Katvig Degradeable bags

Katvig(tm) designer/charity bicycle helmet

The bag you get your goods from Katvig in, possess a microscopic yet revolutionary invention. A normal plastic bag takes 50 years to vanish, but it never goes away completely - after suffocating numerous animals in nature it turns to poison that pollutes the earth indefinitely.

A Katvig plastic bag contains a harmless salt with antioxidants that breaks down the bag in only two years. After this it turns into a few drops of water and the same amount of CO2 that leaves your mouth as you say “bob”.

In addition, it has a long journey behind itself. As the only company in the world, Katvig transport their goods in the same plastic bag as you receive in the store.

Worldwide millions of plastic bags are used every minute. Each year a billion animals are killed because of them.

Talk to your government now, we are talking to ours.
They are responsive and shortly normal plastic bags are prohibited.

Understand the process of degradation:

In print:

process 1

Plastic is made up of long lines of molecules.
These molecules are composed of hydrogen and carbon – a hydrocarbon material. The long strands of molecules are interwoven and create a strong, flexible material that is impervious to water and gasses. This makes it very difficult to degrade. The oxygen that makes things decay can not attach itself to the hydrogen and carbon atoms. Therefore plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene can last for decades.

process 2

The d2w® additive technology introduces a material that causes the bonds between the hydrogen and carbon atoms to be broken. It is activated by heat, ultraviolet radiation (sunlight) and stress (tearing or shredding). We ensure that the plastic item containing our additive will last long enough to perform its function. Then it will start the degradation process.

process 3

The special ingredient in our additive cuts the bonds between the hydrogen and carbon atoms. This enables the oxygen in the atmosphere to bond with the newly available atoms.

process 4

The hydrogen will join the oxygen in pairs
–to create two hydrogen and one oxygen compounds; which is H2O –or water.
The carbon will join with two oxygen atoms and create CO2 which is carbon dioxide. Thus the plastic ceases to be a plastic and harmlessly degrades – ultimately into the background environment.
